The David Wesley Foundation is dedicated to raising money in support of youth music. The foundation was formed in loving memory of David Wesley whose untimely death inspired his family to keep his light alive through music, his greatest passion.
In life David was a quintessential “band geek”, and proud of it. He was an enthusiastic member of the band program at Phoenix High School which is located in the small town of Phoenix in Southern Oregon. While in high school, he was a saxophone player in the marching band, the jazz band, and the symphonic band. He attended the summer program at Burklee School of Music in Boston in the summer of 2013 between his Junior and Senior years of high school, where he met his girlfriend Sarina. In his senior year of high school he was awarded the Louis B. Armstrong Award which is the highest level interscholastic award given to one high school senior per year per school.
Upon graduation from Phoenix High School in 2014 David applied to and was accepted at the Burklee School of Music. Ultimately the cost of attending Burklee prohibited his attendance. David then moved to Atlanta to be near his girlfriend Serina, determined to eventually achieve his dream of studying, performing, and composing music.
It is in the hope and spirit that no other young gifted aspiring musicians have their passion and dreams thwarted by costliness of tuition, that the David Wesley Foundation was formed. Please join us in celebrating and honoring David’s life through your generous gift.
